October 9th – Angela Lechner (Patchworthy) – Hand sewing, patchwork workshop.


October 27th – Saturday Workshop – FULLY BOOKED


November 13th – Christmas workshop with project choice.

Led by members Steph and Daphne.


December 11th – Christmas themed evening with fabric swap.


January 8th – Magazine Challenge and launch of 2019 Group Project.


January 22nd - Patchwork Picnic, Hailey Village Hall 10.00 a.m. - 3.30 p.m.


February 12th – Steph Venn (Cupcake Cottons) – Layering up a quilt.


February 26th Patchwork Picnic, Hailey Village Hall 10.00 a.m. - 3.30 p.m.


March 12th – Charlotte Haelein - “A Quilter’s Journey” - Talk


April 9th – Come and Sew evening - hand sewing - either make a small box for                      the Region 6 Tombola at the Festival of Quilts in August, or bring                            along your piece for the St Mary's 775 quilt.


April 13th - Circles Worshop with Sheena Roberts. 9.45 a.m. - 4.00 p.m.

The room costs £25 to hire for the day, we usually divide the cost between the number of sewers attending.


Invitation from Fitzharrys Quilters, Abingdon - 23 July 7.30 p.m. at the Northcourt  Centre, Abingdon OX14 1NS.   A talk by Catherine Tebb, Head of Textiles, Pipers Corner School.  Catherine will talk about the quilts made by her mother, Nancy Llewelyn (a prize winning quilter) and also her own work.  She has a particular interest in vintage fabrics.  The talk is adverised as free!  Please let Ann Jennaway (peter.jennaway@sky.com) know if you would like to go.


Region 6, Quilters Guild Summer Lunch - 27 July 12 noon - 2.30 p.m

Will be held at Jane Chapman's house, Bampton. All welcome, QG members £2, non members £3.  Bring food, cake and quilts for Show'n'Tell.

Project Linus information:


Margaret Metcalfe and Ani Catt are collecting quilts for Project Linus as follows:


Incubator covers for the SCBU at the JR - 33" x 55"


Quilts for children/teenagers - 40" square upwards (to single bed)


Covers/quilts should be made from cotton fabric and then wadded or backed with fleece.  There should be no frills or furbelows! (i.e. all machine stitched, no buttons, ribbons, bells ...)


Also required are :


Breast pump bags - 13" x 9" with a long cross body strap.


"Wiggly" bags (for Hickman lines worn by children on oncology ward) - 4" square with 2 cotton tapes one from each top corner, at least 18" long.
