September 10th 2019 - "Speed dating" with quilts! An opportunity to get to know other members - new and old. Come along and find out what this is all about.

December 10th – Christmas Sit and Sew - with charity fundraiser.


January 14th – Crazy Quilting - Talk and Demonstration by member Ani Catt - defeated by Fire Alarm!!


January 18th - Saturday Workshop led by Ani Catt, following on from her talk the previous Tuesday. Have a go at Ribbon Embroidery. £20 members, £25 non-members.


February 11th – Crazy Quilting - Talk and Demonstration by member Ani Catt.


March 10th – Fussy Cutting for EPP - Demonstration and "have a go" - Led by Steph Venn, Cupcake Cottons.


April 14th – Quilters' Guild Collection Suitcase - exquisite quilts to admire and discuss. Plus a talk from Tina McEwen, Regional Co-ordinator, Region 6, Quilters Guild.


May 12th – Talk - "Travels with my Camera" - Polly Woolstone, textile artist.


June 9th – Talk and mini workshop - Fiddle Fingers Quilts - Judy Harris


July 14th – AGM and Summer Supper Party

Patchwork and Quilting in Bampton A small exhibition of quilts made by the local residents of Bampton (several of whom are, or have been QG/Buttercross members).  This event runs from 10:30am on the 21st January 2020, to 4:00pm on the 27th February 2020 and will take place at Vesey Room, Bampton Library, Old Grammar School, Church View, Bampton OX18 2NE.

It is being organised by Jane Wallis, jane.wallis@phonecoop.coop.

Ridgeway Quilters Exhibition - 

This event runs from 10:00am on the 28th March 2020, to 4:30pm on the 29th March 2020 and will take place at Chilton Village Hall, Oxfordshire OX11 0SH. It is being organised by Joy Fricker, ridgewayquilters@gmail.com.

Local group quilt exhibition with raffle and traders. Entry £3. Proceeds will go to the textile department at Mary Hare School, Berkshire. This is a school for deaf children and teenagers.


Project Linus Making Day, dates for 2020 released soon! Will be held at the Methodist Church, Witney come along and make tops for Project Linus quilts. Materials will be supplied. Contact Margaret Metcalfe 07733 167574 jandmmetcalfe@btinternet.com  A free day out doing what you love!

Margaret Metcalfe and Ani Catt are collecting quilts for Project Linus as follows:


Incubator covers for the SCBU at the JR - 33" x 55"


Quilts for children/teenagers - 40" square upwards (to single bed)


Covers/quilts should be made from cotton fabric and then wadded or backed with fleece.  There should be no frills or furbelows! (i.e. all machine stitched, no buttons, ribbons, bells ...)


Also required are :


Breast pump bags - 13" x 9" with a long cross body strap.


"Wiggly" bags (for Hickman lines worn by children on oncology ward) - 4" square with 2 cotton tapes one from each top corner, at least 18" long.
