BUTTERCROSS QUILTERS - PROGRAMME FOR 2021/2022

We plan to hold a Zoom evening each 4th Tuesday of the month (not December or August). Members will receive a link for this via email.
September 14th 2021 - We're back! An opportunity to catch up with friends, followed by Show and Tell
October 12th - Tina McEwen past President of Quilters Guild and Coordinator Region 6 tells us her quilting story
November 9th - Judy Harris will talk about ‘Fiddle Finger Quilts’ for people with dementia and we can start to make some blocks together
Decmber 14th - Christmas fundraiser with button fabric swap/sale
January 11th - Quilters Guild Collection suitcase and sew together for Treebilee

February 8th - Dorset Buttons and Suffolk Puffs, mini workshop
March 8th -Sit and sew with Guest speaker on Zoom later this month
April 12th - Talk by Delphine Brooks
May 10th - Talk by Abigail Sheridan de Graff long arm quilter and First Prize winner in Modern Quilt category of Festival of Quilts 2021.
June 14th - Patchwork and quilting clinic bring your patchwork and quilting problems /UFO’s and we will work together to help you
July 12th - AGM, sew together and bring and buy (with strawberries)

Project Linus information:
Margaret Metcalfe and Ani Catt are collecting quilts for Project Linus as follows:
Incubator covers for the SCBU at the JR - 33" x 55"
Quilts for children/teenagers - 40" square upwards (to single bed)
Covers/quilts should be made from cotton fabric and then wadded or backed with fleece. There should be no frills or furbelows! (i.e. all machine stitched, no buttons, ribbons, bells ...)
Also required are :
Breast pump bags - 13" x 9" with a long cross body strap.
"Wiggly" bags (for Hickman lines worn by children on oncology ward) - 4" square with 2 cotton tapes one from each top corner, at least 18" long.
